Miriam is a 23 year old avid antique collector with an affinity for all things offputting, ancient, and strange. She is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music and the University of Rochester in New York, where she majored in Violin Performance, Political Science, and Public Policy Development. Miriam is a published author of both poetry and prose, and requests that no one try to read her work which she publishes under a pseudonym for that express purpose. She plays bass in a grunge rock band and has three cats, each more troubled than the last. She has worked as a waitress at a diner, an archive assistant at a library, and a secretary at Rochester City Hall where she was told by former Mayor William Johnson that she has “...the kind of passion you can’t teach.” After driving across the country in three days in her 2015 Honda Fit, she quickly became engrossed in the Tucson vintage scene, and ended up as a vendor at several antique malls around town. With a family full of members involved in the antique industry in one way or another, she decided to try her hand at opening her own antique mall with her best friend and business partner, Fiza Rahman, hoping to support and enlarge the thrifting community in Tucson. Miriam strives to create space for the next generation of antique dealers in the Southwest, and put her money where her mouth is with regard to the importance of used goods, anticonsumerism, and the local economy.

Fiza is a 20-year-old cat lady who has been thrifting since before it was cool. She currently studies Psychology and Cognitive Behavioral Neuroscience at the University of Arizona, where she teaches a class on the Psychology of Leadership and works as a Music Director for the KAMP student radio. She is a talented comic artist and Speed Cuber, whose record stands at an impressive 56.36 seconds for a completed 3x3. Fiza is responsible for all branded graphic design for Crescent Moon Mercantile and maintains work on her personal artistic side projects despite the grueling hours as a new business owner. Fiza is a vendor at an antique mall and has worked on the administrative side of the antique industry for much of her professional career. She was spurred to action by a former mentor when she told her, “You know enough to make it happen, go start a place of your own.” Fiza enjoys being a part of the Tucson vintage scene as both vendor and client, coating every inch of her apartment in wooden cats. She believes in the monumental importance of human connection and hopes to aid in uplifting members of the antique industry who may otherwise feel out of place or unwelcome.
